Navigate a trail

Tap Navigate on any trail’s detail page to follow it step by step.

The navigation screen shows the trail and your live position on the map. The map follows you in heading-up mode — it rotates so that your direction of travel points up; a compass button resets the map to north. Upcoming maneuvers are announced with their distance (“In 300 m …”), and the app notifies you when you reach the end of the trail.

Alongside the map you can keep an eye on your live stats — distance covered, speed, time in motion — and the trail’s elevation profile with your current position on it.

Navigation keeps running in the background with a persistent notification, so your screen can stay off between turns.

Your movement along the trail is tracked, so when you finish (or stop early) you can save your actual track as a trail of your own — with the same Save recording options as a free recording.

Navigation works without a network connection for trails stored on your device: download the trail (and ideally its map region) beforehand — see Offline use. Your position comes from GPS, which needs no internet.
